Schwarz Earns GLIAC Second-Team Honors

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University sophomore Nikki Schwarz (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek HS) was named to the All-GLIAC women's tennis second-team on Tuesday (October 29).
     Schwarz, who played first-singles for the Cardinals, recently recorded victories over Alison Hughes of Mercyhurst (7-5, 7-5) and Laura Matzka of Michigan Tech (2-6, 6-0, 6-2) at the GLIAC Tournament (October 25-26). The two wins raised her season record to 5-7, while her career record now stands at 10-13. Schwarz also played second-doubles for the Cardinals, teaming with Samantha Dodson (Frankenmuth, Mich.) to record a 6-8 record.
     The Cardinals finished the season with a 5-9 overall record, and recorded an 8th place finish at the GLIAC Tournament.
