Lady Cardinals Sweep Pair

BAY CITY – The Saginaw Valley State University tennis
team swept a pair of matches from Northern Michigan University and Alma
College by the identical scores of 7-2 on Saturday.
SVSU took four of the singles matches
against NMU and all three doubles matches. Picking up singles wins for
the Lady Cardinals include Jennifer Roy (Byron, GA/Peach County) at
No. 2 singles, Jennifer Spence (Saginaw/Heritage) at No.4 singles, Kristy
Clark (Croswell/Croswell-Lexington) at No. 5 singles, and Pearla Siasoyco
(Perris, CA) at No. 6 singles.
The doubles teams of Spence/Meaghan LaForrest
(Bay City/Central) at No. 1, Roy/Yeagley at No. 2, and Clark/Siasoyco
at No. 3 swept the Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Cardinals swept the singles
matches against Alma, with LaForrest (No. 1), Roy (No.2), Yeagley (No.
3), Spence (No. 4), Clark (No. 5), and Siasoyco (No. 6) all scoring
wins.
The No. 2 doubles team of Roy/Yeagley
was the only SVSU doubles team to scratch out a victory against the
Lady Scots. Saginaw Valley improves to
13-5 this season, 3-0 this spring. The Lady Cardinals will travel to
Greenville, TN for a match against Presbyterian College (TN) next Saturday.
