Cardinals Open Spring Season in Florida

SANFORD, Fla - The Saginaw Valley State University women's tennis team opened the spring season with a 7-2 defeat at the hands of Ohio Northern University on Tuesday (March 1). The competition took place at Sylvan Lake Park in Sanford, Florida.
     In doubles competition, the number two combination of Brooke Kennedy (Walled Lake, Mich./Wester) and Andrea Prociv (Jackson, Mich./Lumen Christi) earned the lone SVSU doubles win with an 8-6 decision over the ONU team of Oleski/Heckbert.
     Senior Nikki Schwarz (Battle Creek, Mich./Harper Creek) was the only Cardinal to come up victorious in singles play. Schwarz battled to a 7-5, 6-2 win over ONU's Bridget Larsin.
