Cardinals Fall to Michigan Tech, 7-2

Houghton, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women’s tennis team dropped their second match of the season to Michigan Tech on Saturday (September 6). The Huskies won seven of the nine matches, claiming the top four singles matches and all three doubles matches.
     Sophomore Holly Halvatgis (Anchorage, Alaska/Robert Service HS) and freshman Maggie Dodson (Frankenmuth, Mich.) claimed the two individual match victories for the Cardinals. Halvatgis won at fifth singles, while Dodson won at sixth singles.

Doubles Competition

2. Malinska/O’Dell (MT) def. Halvatgis/Kennedy (SV) 8-2
3. Holmsten/Moritz (MT) def. M. Dodson/Jastrzebski (SV) 8-5

     The Cardinals return to the courts on Friday (September 12) for a GLIAC encounter with Northwood University in Midland, Mich. The match is set to begin at 2:00p.m.
