Northern Michigan Too Much For Cardinals

SAGINAW – Northern Michigan University was too much for Saginaw Valley State University Sunday, winning 8-1 at Four Flags Racquet Club.
The Lady Cardinals won only nine games in dropping the first five singles flights.
"They're real tough at the top four singles flights," said Cardinal coach Jim Teal. "They thumped us."
SVSU fell to 3-4 overall and in the GLIAC, while NMU remained undefeated in GLIAC play with a 6-0 record and 6-1 overall mark.
Freshman Samantha Dodson (Frankenmuth) was the only Cardinal winner on the day, defeating Katie Stofcheck by scores of 6-0 7-6 (7-3).
