Cardinals Drop Lakers

SAGINAW – Saginaw Valley State University evened its record with an easy 7-2 win over Lake Superior State University Friday at Four Flags Racquet Club.
     The Lady Cardinals swept all three doubles flights to improve their overall record to 3-3, all GLIAC games, while the Lakers dropped to 0-3.
     Singles winners for SVSU were junior Dawn Thomas (Port Huron/Northern) at No. 1, sophomore Jennifer Spence (Saginaw/Heritage) at No. 4, senior Heidi Yeagley (Flushing) at No. 5, and freshman Samantha Dodson (Frankenmuth) at No. 6.
     Thomas teamed with Spence for a No. 1 doubles win, sophomore Meghan LaForrest (Bay City/Central) joined Dodson for a win at No. 2, and Yeagley and sophomore Jennifer Roy (Byron, GA,/Peach County) won at No. 3.
     The Cardinals host Northern Michigan University Sunday at 10 a.m. in their final home match of the season and the final home appearance of their careers for Yeagley and senior Pearly Siasoyco (Perris, CA).
