Cardinals Topped In Overtime

Rensselaer, IN. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team fell (Friday Sept. 13) to St. Joseph's College 1-0 on a set kick with 4:28 left in the first overtime. SVSU falls to slips to 0-4 while the Pumas improve to 3-2 on the season.
The Cardinals pressured the opponent's defense all game, outshooting the Pumas 15-10. Both teams failed to score in regulation time, sending the game into overtime. St. Joseph's Melissa Janowitsch crushed the Cardinal hopes, by netting a set piece with 4:28 left in the first overtime. Junior Linde McCubbin (Saginaw, Mich. Heritage HS) came away with nine saves for the red and white.
The Cardinals look to bounce back this Sunday, as the birds play host to Salem International.
