Knights Slay Cardinals 3-1

ERIE, Pa. - Gannon University pulled out a 3-1 win over SVSU on Sunday
(October 20). The Golden Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 23 minutes of the game off goals from Shelly Barnes and Lisa Curtis.
   The Cardinals responded with a goal from Jessica Bieker (Utica, Mich./Eisenhower HS) in the 48th minute off a pass from Kristie King (Lake Orion, Mich.) to trim G.U.'s lead to 2-1. Gannon's Shelly Barnes scored her second goal of the game in the 86th minute to seal the win for the Golden Knights.
   The loss drops the Cardinals to 2-13-1 (0-6-1 GLIAC), while Gannon improves to
4-11-1 (1-4-1 GLIAC) on the year. SVSU closes out the season with a two-game home stand beginning on Sunday, November 3, when the Cardinals host Northern Michigan at noon.
