Cardinals Fall to Bellarmine 1-0

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team fell to Bellarmine 1-0 on Sunday (Sept. 1) in day two of the Northern Kentucky Tournament.
   Bellarmine's Jenny Truttman scored the only goal of the game thirteen seconds into the second half to give the Knights the win. SVSU had an opportunity to tie the contest late in the game when Jessica Bieker (Utica, Mich./Eisenhower HS) headed a pass from Erin Szaroleta (Lake Orion, Mich.) over the crossbar.
   The loss drops the Cardinals to 0-2 on the season, while Bellarmine moves to 1-1 with the win. SVSU returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 7), when the Cardinals host West Virgina Wesleyan at 11:00am as part of the Cardinal Classic.
