Lady Cardinals Lose To Eagles 3-2

ASHLAND, Ohio. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team fell to Ashland 3-2 on Saturday (Oct. 5).
     All three Ashland goals came in the first half and the Cardinals were unable to recover, scoring both of their goals in the second half. The Cardinals Jennifer Prior (Flushing, Mich.) scored the team's first goal of the game, coming on an assist from Amber Brick (Midland, Mich.). Emily Murawski (Warren, Mich./Woods Tower HS) found the back of the net for the second time this season, also coming on an assist from Brick.
     "Lisa Mahoney played well on defense and we had solid goal keeping, but the offense just wasn't there", said head coach Jim Conner. The loss drops the Cardinals to 1-8 (0-1 GLIAC) on the season, while Ashland improves to 8-1 (1-0 GLIAC). The Cardinals finish up their road trip Sunday (Oct. 6) at Findlay with a 12:00p.m. start.
