End Season Against LSSU

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University
women's basketball team dropped a 76-61 decision to the visiting
Lake Superior State University Lakers on Saturday (Feb. 26) in
the final game of the season for the Cardinals. SVSU fought hard
against the GLIAC champions but ultimately fell to the deep Lakers.
Senior Krista St. Aubin
(Sterling Heights, Mich./Utica), playing in
her final game as a Cardinal, scored a career-high 11 points on
5-of-10 shooting, while also dishing out five assists. Sophomore
Sara Bilunes (Holt, Mich.) led the Cardinals
with 13 points, a game-high seven assists and a game-high and
career-high six steals. Freshman Kali Briggs (Jackson,
Mich./Vandercook Lake) tallied her seventh double-double
of the season with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while
freshman Kara Kinzer (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica
Eisenhower) added 11 points.
Becky Marquardt-King posted game
highs of 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lakers to the victory.
Mandi Johnson followed up with 15 points, whie Randi Johnson posted
13 points and six assists.
The Cardinals finish the season
at 7-19 (3-15 GLIAC), while LSSU improves to 21-5 (16-2 GLIAC)
heading into the conference tournament.
