Fall to Lakers, 84-50

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University
women's basketball team dropped an 84-50 decision to the Lakers
of Grand Valley State on Thursday (Feb. 10). The loss ends the
Cardinals two-game win streak.
Sophomore guard Sara Bilunes
(Holt, Mich.) led SVSU in defeat with 18 points,
a team-high four assists and tied her career high with a game-high
four steals. Freshman guard Kara Kinzer (Shelby
Twp., Mich./Utica Eisenhower) chipped in with 10 points,
while freshman forward Kali Briggs (Jackson,
Mich./Vandercook Lake) added eight points and a team-high
nine rebounds for the cardinals.
Niki Reams posted a double-double
of 19 points and 13 rebounds, both game highs, to lead the Lakers.
Erika Ryskamp dropped in 19 points to share game-high honors in
scoring, while also dishing out a game-high five assists. Crystal
Zick scored 10 points and handed out five assists.
The loss drops the Cardinals to
7-13 (3-9 GLIAC), while GVSU improves to 19-4 (13-1 GLIAC). SVSU
returns to action with a 1:00p.m. road clash with Ferris State
on Saturday (Feb. 12).
