CARDS DROP A 90-55 DECISION AT GANNON

ERIE, Pa. - The Lady Cardinals ran into a determined Gannon squad at the Hammermill Center on Saturday and fell 90-55 to the host Golden Knights. The Cards were without the services of sophomore captain Lisa Collison for the second straight game and had troubles on offense. SVSU shot 37.1 percent (23-of-62) from the floor and had problems with the Gannon pressure defense coughing it up a season-high 32 times. SVSU was also 6-of-16 (.375) from the arc and just 3-of-7 at the foul line.
     Sophomore guard Sara Bilunes (Holt, Mich.) scored a team-high 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting and was 3-of-5 from the arc. She did however turn it over 13 times and played all 40 minutes. Freshman forward Kali Briggs (Jackson, Mich./Vandercook Lake) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. Briggs currently ranks fifth nationally in rebounds per game. Briggs was 5-of-7 from the floor in 38 minutes. Junior guard Stephanie Hass (Harbor Springs, Mich./Harbor Light Christian) chipped in 12 points and six boards in 31 minutes.
     Gannon shot 56.7 percent for the game and were led by Ashley Lowdermilk's 18 points. Five different players were in double figures for Gannon. SVSU is now 4-8 overall and 1-5 in the GLIAC having dropped five straight in the conference.
