November 26, 2004 SVSU Sees First Half Lead Slip Away in a 59-44 Loss to Barry FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Freshman forward Kali
Briggs (Jackson, Mich./ Vandercook Lake) led
SVSU with 14 points and eight rebounds as the Cardinals dropped
a 59-44 decision to Barry University (Fla.) at the Nova Southeastern
Tournament on Friday. The Cardinals held a 30-24 lead at halftime
but were outscored 35-14 in the second half. The telling stat
was the shooting from beyond the three-point arc for the Cardinals,
who were 2-of-26 on the night. Sophomore guard Sara Bilunes
(Holt, Mich.) led SVSU with 18 points. The Cardinals
were 20-of-65 from the floor for the game (30.8 percent). The
Cardinals (1-3) will play host Nova Southeastern on Saturday at
5:00 pm.
