                              Lady Cards Drop 73-66 Decision to Lakers

ALLENDALE, Mich. –The Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals dropped their second consecutive game, a 73-66 to The Grand Valley State University Lakers.
     The Cards were down by only two going into the break, as Jennifer Brogger (Harbor Springs, Mich.) dropped in ten first half points to spark SVSU. The second half was a hard fought battle both ways, with the game being close whole way, as the Lakers had a double-digit lead only one time in the second half. SVSU managed to close it to a four point margin with 00:47 to play, but Grand Valley iced the game making five free throws in the closing seconds.
     SVSU was led in scoring by Kamaria Douglas (Lansing, Mich./Evertt HS) who had a season-high 16 points in the loss. Brogger had another steady performance, as she put up 14 points to help the cause.
     Julie Zeeff had a double-double for the Lakers, as she recorded thirteen points and 15 rebounds. Julie Braseth led the Lakers in scoring with 15 points on the night.
     The loss drops Saginaw Valley to 15-9 overall (7-8 GLIAC), while Grand Valley moves to 10-12 overall (7-7 GLIAC). The Cardinals return to action on Thursday, February 19 as they travel to Marquette, Mich. to take on Northern Michigan. Tip is for 6:00pm.
