SVSU Defeated by Lake
Superior, 92-59
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Alice Duesing’s
31 points and eleven rebounds lifted Lake Superior State to a
92-59 victory over Saginaw Valley State Thursday night (Feb. 20)
in the James E. O’Neill Arena. The Cardinals fell to 4-21
(0-17 GLIAC) on the season, while the conference leading Lakers
improved to 20-5 (15-3 GLIAC).
Sophomore Jennifer Hagstrom (Cadillac,
Mich.) led the Cardinals with 15 points, nine rebounds, and
six blocks. Hagstrom went 5-of-9 from the floor. Freshman Elicia
Kinner (Pellston, Mich.) finished with 14 points
and three steals. Kinner, who currently leads the GLIAC in three-point
percentage (.479), converted on 3-of-7 from behind the arc. Senior
Angie Smith (Perry, Mich.) recorded
a career-high 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Smith also had three
assists and two steals on the night.
Lake Superior received help from Danielle
Pettingill and Allyson Conaway, who finished with 14 and ten points
respectively.
The Cardinals conclude the season when
they host Northwood in a 1:00p.m. tilt Saturday afternoon (Feb.
22).
