Cardinals Stop Chargers

Hillsdale, Mich.- SVSU, leading 32-30 at the half, used a 12-0 run at the start of the second half to pull away from Hillsdale and win 77-65 in Hillsdale on Monday.  Sophomore Trisha Moody (Saginaw/Swan Valley) sparked the run, scoring seven of her 14 points during that stretch.
     Four Cardinals scored in double-digits. Senior Jenny White (Oxford) recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring 15 and pulling-down 10 boards while dishing-out 6 assists.  Junior Erin Johnson (Saginaw/Heritage) led all scorers with 17, while Kathryn Williams (Detroit/Martin Luther King) and Moody each chipped-in 14.
     The Cardinals shot .574 from the field in the game and .652 in the second half, both season-highs.   The Cards also set season-highs in free-throw percentage (.727), three-point percentage (.500) and three-pointers made (7).
     SVSU finishes its longest road-trip of the season at 4-2 (1-1 GLIAC). The Lady Cards will see their first home action of the year on Thursday, playing host to Ashland University at 5:30 pm in the O'Neill Arena.
