Big Dogs Too Much For Lady Cards

Big Rapids, Mich.-  Ferris State's Debbie Killips and Bridget Horwitz poured-in 24 and 23 points, respectively as the Bulldogs used a 17-4 run early in the second half to beat the visiting Cards 75-65.  The Cards led 29-28 at the half despite being held to 39.4% shooting from the floor and missing all six from behind the three-point line.
     Senior Natalie Novick (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) notched her first double-double of her career, scoring a career-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting and adding 10 rebounds.  Novick dominated underneath for the Cardinals in the second half, posting 13 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots in the second half alone.
     Senior Kathryn Williams (Detroit/Martin Luther King) added nine points, six assists and five steals for SVSU.   Her backcourt teammate, Jenny Brown (Evantson, Ill./Evanston Twp.), chipped-in six points with four assists and three steals.
     The loss drop the Cards below .500 for the first time this season at 8-9 overall (2-7 GLIAC). SVSU will look to even the score on Saturday night as they take on Grand Valley State at 6 p.m.
