Cardinals Fall 3-0 to Mercyhurst

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Mercyhurst College Lakers on Saturday (October 16). The Lakers won by scores of 30-27, 34-32 and 30-27.
     Sophomore Rachel Pelhank (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) recorded ten kills and nine digs for the Cardinals, while senior Valarie Lyczkowski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) racked up a team-high eleven digs.
     Michelle Krob recorded a match-high 18 kills for the Lakers, while Lyndsi Hughes added 17 kills and a match-high 18 digs. Kari Clapham assisted on 50 kills.
     The Cardinals return to the court on Friday (October 22) with a road match against Michigan Tech. Play is set to begin at 7:00p.m.
