Close Season Against Madonna
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University
volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Madonna
University Crusaders on Saturday (November 6). The Crusaders won
by scores of 30-15, 30-28 and 30-25.
Freshman Danielle Dryer
(Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) led SVSU
with eleven kills, while sophomore Rachel Pelhank
(Temperance, Mich./Bedford) recorded ten kills and eight
digs for the Cardinals. Freshman Jessica Conley (St.
Johns, Mich.) racked up 30 set assists for SVSU, while senior
Valarie Lyczkowski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford)
racked up a match-high 16 digs.
Sharyse Bush recorded a match-high
19 kills for Madonna, while Ashley Frost tallied a match-high
46 set assists.
The Cardinals finish the season
at 2-28 (0-18 GLIAC), while Madonna improves their record to 37-2.
Lyczkowski, Megan Pendleton (Belding, Mich.)
and Desiree Betts (Livonia, Mich.) each
played in their last match for the Cardinals on Senior Day 2004.
