Tops Cardinals, 3-0
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University
volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at the hands of the #11
Grand Valley State University Lakers on Saturday (October 30).
The Lakers won by scores of 30-23, 30-16 and 30-23.
Freshman Danielle Dryer
(Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) led the
Cardinals with a team-high nine kills on the afternoon, while
sophomore Rachel Pelhank (Temperance, Mich./Bedford)
tallied a team-high nine digs. Freshman Jessica Conley
(St. Johns, Mich.) chipped in with eight digs
and a match-high 23 set assists.
Grand Valley State was led by Megan
Helsen and Tracy Kirk, who each recorded 13 kills. Michele Ehrlich
and Leah Kunz split the setting duties, recording 21 and 22 set
assists, respectively.
The Cardinals fall to 2-27 (0-17
GLIAC), while GVSU improves their record to 22-4 (14-1 GLIAC).
SVSU returns to action on Friday (November 5) with a home match
against Northwood University. Game time is set for 7:00p.m.
