Golden Knights Foil Cardinals,
3-0
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University
volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Gannon
University Golden Knights on Friday (October 15). The Golden Knights
won by scores of 30-25, 30-25 and 30-27.
Freshman Daniell Dryer
(Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) led the Cardinals
in defeat with twelve kills. Seniors Valarie Lyczkowski
(Temperance, Mich./ Bedford) and Desiree Betts
(Livonia, Mich.) posted 14 and twelve digs to aid the
Cardinal cause.
Alyssa Ruffino posted a match-high
13 kills to lead Gannon, while Katie Flower chipped in with a
match-high 16 digs. Mallory Kam recorded a match-high 44 assists.
SVSU falls to 2-21 (0-11 GLIAC),
while Gannon improves to 12-12 (3-8 GLIAC). The Cardinals return
to the court on Saturday (October 16) with a home match against
Mercyhurst College. Play is set to begin at 4:00p.m.
