Tops Cardinals, 3-0
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University
volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the visiting Hillsdale
Chargers on Friday (September 26). The Chargers won by scores
of 30-16, 30-18, and 30-18.
Senior Sara Lieber
(Davison, Mich.) led the Cardinals in in defeat with
twelve digs, ten assists, and five kills. Freshman Aimee
Bamberg (Millington, Mich.) recorded six kills
and four block assists on the evening, while freshman Rachel
Pelhank (Temperance, Mich./Bedford HS) had four
kills and six digs.
Taryn Rudland led Hillsdale with
ten kills, while Tessa Bloemers and Sarah Spaulding each recorded
double figure totals in digs, with 15 and ten, respectively.
SVSU falls to 1-12 (0-5 GLIAC) on
the season, while Hillsdale moves to 11-7 (3-1 GLIAC). The
Cardinals return to action on Saturday (September 27) with a home
match against Wayne State at 5:00p.m.
