SVSU Thumps U of M Dearborn

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley downed the University of Michigan-Dearborn 3-1 in a non-conference match up Saturday (October 26). Game scores were 30-11, 30-23, 28-30, 30-28. SVSU is now 6-22 (1-13 GLIAC) for the season.
    The Cardinals came out firing on all cylinders as they took the first 11 points of the match with help from sophomore Kelly Stoltz's (New Stanton, Pa.) match-high 16 kills.     Senior Jamie Reed (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) anchored the Cardinals defense recoding a match-high 27 digs. Reed now bumps her career leading record for career digs to 1490. She has also compiled 441 digs on the year, 92 shy of the SVSU single season record.
    Sophomore Kelly Samalik (Freeland, Mich.) added five service aces and three block assists in the Cardinal victory.
    Saginaw Valley State will host Concordia College this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
