Clipped At Madonna
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley fell 3-0 to Madonna
in non-conference action on Thursday night (Oct. 24) at Madonna
University. Game scores were 30-14, 30-25, 30-19. SVSU is now
5-22 (1-13 GLIAC) for the season, while the Crusaders improved
to 35-2 (9-0 WHAC).
Senior Jamie Reed (Saginaw,
Mich./Heritage HS) paced the Cardinals with 19 assists and
17 digs. Reed now bumps her career leading record for career digs
to 1463. She has also compiled 414 digs on the year, 119 shy of
the SVSU single season record. Sophomore Kelly Stoltz
(New Stanton, Pa.) slammed 10 kills and sophomore Kelly
Samalik (Freeland, Mich.) added six block assists in
the Cardinal loss.
Laura Lesko's 10 kills and 10 digs led
Madonna to their second victory over the Cardinals this season.
The Crusaders, ranked ninth in NAIA hit .439 for the match.
Saginaw Valley State will host a pair
of non-conference matches on Saturday (Oct. 26). SVSU will square
off with the University of Michigan-Dearborn at 11:00 a.m. and
battle Concordia College at 4:00 p.m.
