      Cards Drop Season Finale

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Lady Cardinals dropped their final game of the season, falling 3-0 (30-20, 30-22, 30-27) to No. 5 Grand Valley State on Saturday (November 9). The loss drops SVSU to 7-27 (1-17 GLIAC) for the season, while GVSU clinches the division title, with a final record of 26-2 (17-1 GLIAC).
    Senior Jamie Reed (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) gathered 25 assists and 20 digs in her final game as a Cardinal. She finishes with 556 digs for the season and 1605 for her career, both of which are school records.
    Junior Valarie Lyczkowski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford HS) finished with 10 digs and sophomore Kelly Stoltz (New Stanton, Pa.) tallied 10 kills.
    SVSU finished the match with 32 kills and 10 blocks. GVSU, who is ranked No.1 in the latest NCAA Great Lakes Regional poll, recorded 52 kills and 14 team blocks.
   Grand Valley State setter Nicole Bayle dished out a match-high 37 assists, while Sabrina Bird slammed 14 kills for the Laker victory.
