SVSU Sweeps Concordia

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley defeated Concordia University 3-0 in a non-conference match up Saturday (October 26). Game scores were 30-17 30-16, 30-13. SVSU has won two-straight and is now 7-22 (1-13 GLIAC) for the season.
    Senior Jamie Reed (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) directed the offense for a majority of the match, dishing out 30 assists. She also recoded a match-high 14 digs, bumping her career leading record for digs to 1504. She has also registered 455 digs on the year, 78 shy of the SVSU single season record. Sophomore Kelly Stoltz (New Stanton, Pa.) and freshman Jamie Dubbink (Holland Mich.) each tallied eight kills and nine digs, while sophomore Kelly Samalik (Freeland, Mich.) finished with nine kills and four service aces.
    Saginaw Valley hit .318 while using stingy defense to keep Concordia at a .052 mark. SVSU also had 42 kills to Concordia's 17.
    The Cardinals will host Alma College on Monday (October 28) at 7:00 p.m.
