Lakers Sweep Cards

ERIE, Pa. – After scoring its first two-match winning streak of the season, the SVSU Cardinals dropped a 3-0 decision to host Mercyhurst on Friday. The Cardinals had opportunities to rally, but those opportunities were thwarted due in part to the Cards racking up 13 total receiving errors.
     Pacing the Cardinals were Brooke Burton (Temperance) with 12 kills and Jamie Reed (Saginaw/Heritage) with 12 assists, 4 block solos, and a block assist.
     The loss drops the Cards to 5-18 overall (1-9 GLIAC). The Cardinals will stay in Pennsylvania as they take on Gannon University on Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. tilt.
