Findlay Beats SVSU

FINDLAY, OH -- Saginaw Valley State University dropped its second straight GLIAC match Friday, falling at the University of Findlay in three straight games by scores of 15-11, 15-5 and 15-1.
     Sophomore outside hitter Bree Hickman (Temperance/Bedford) led SVSU with six kills and seven digs. Senior Dana Nelson (Adrian) added six kills. Freshman Brianna White (Kalamazoo/Comstock) assisted 17 times.
     Freshman Valarie Lyczkowski (Temperance/Bedford) dealt four aces. Freshman Sara Lieber (Davison) had nine digs, Beth Engle (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) had 8, senior Jenni Dast (Bay City/Central) had six.
     "The first two games were good," said coach Bob Sells. "We played really hard, but just didn't create enough breaks . Findlay is a very good team. Close to the level of Northwood."
     The Oilers improved to 12-2 overall and 1-0 in the GLIAC, while SVSU fell to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the league.
     "I'm happy with the progress we made tonight," Sells added. "I'm looking forward to Ashland tomorrow."
     SVSU plays at Ashland University Saturday at 3 p.m..
