Cardinals Drop Third Straight

DETROIT-- The Saginaw Valley State University women's volleyball team fell to the Lady Warriors of Wayne State University on Saturday afternoon by the scores of 8-15, 14-16, 7-15.
     Sophomore Bree Hickman (Temperance/Bedford) of SVSU had 15 kills and 16 digs, while freshman Brianna White (Kalamazoo/Comstock) had 33 assists. Sophomore Jamie Reed (Saginaw/Heritage) had 15 digs for the Lady Cardinals. Freshman middle hitter Valerie Lyczkowski (Temperance/Bedford) ended up netting 10 digs and 6 kills and no errors while hitting .400 for the match. Junior Brooke Burton (Temperance/Bedford) chipped in 14 kills for SVSU, while senior Dana Nelson (Adrian) had 7 kills and also hit .400 for the match.
     SVSU has dropped three straight matches to fall to 3-9 overall in the GLIAC and 7-16 overall.
     The Lady Cardinals travel to Northern Michigan University on Friday, October 20th for a 7 p.m. duel.
