Hillsdale Too Much for Cards

HILLSDALE -- Saginaw Valley State University couldn't get on track at Hillsdale College Friday and dropped its second sraight match by scores of 15-9, 15-13 and 15-6.
     SVSU scored just 21 points in an early-season neutral-site non-conference loss and managed to score seven more Friday night.
     Sophomore Bree Hickman (Temperance/Bedford) continued her impressive season with a team-high 12 kills, to go with seven digs and two block assists.
     Four other Cardinals had five kills each, including junior Brooke Burton (Temperance/Bedford), senior Tracy Wenzel (Saginaw/Birch Run), sophomore Krista Mohr (St. Johns), senior Dana Nelson (Adrian) and sophomore Ashley Schafer (Essexville/Garber). Senior Erin Geiger (Belding) had 27 assists, senior Jenni Dast (Bay City/Central) had a team-high eight digs and two aces. SVSU will play at Wayne State University, Saturday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m.
