Gannon Halts SVSU Streak
UNIVERSITY CENTER, MI-- The Saginaw Valley State University women's
volleyball team fell to the Lady Knights of Gannon University on Sunday
afternoon by the scores of 15-10, 6-15, 11-15, 10-15.
SVSU's modest two-game win streak was halted
as it falls to 7-14 overall, 3-7 in the GLIAC.
Sophomore Bree Hickman (Temperance/Bedford)
led SVSU with 20 kills and 24 digs, while sophomore Ashley Schafer (Essexville/Garber)
had 7 kills and 2 block assists. Senior Jenni Dast (Bay City/Central)
had 2 kills and 14 digs for the Lady Cardinals. Senior setter Erin Geiger
(Belding) had 55 assists, 5 digs and 2 kills. Junior Brooke Burton (Temperance/Bedford)
chipped in 8 kills for SVSU, while sophomore Krista Mohr (St. Johns) had
11 kills, a block solo and a block assist.
The Lady Cardinals play Friday, October
13th at Hillsdale College, beginning at 7 p.m.
