CARDS FINISH
SEVENTH AT GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.
- The Saginaw Valley State women's track and field squad finished
seventh at the 2005 GLIAC Indoor Championships at the James E. O'Neill,
Jr. Arena on Saturday with a total of 28 points. Grand Valley State
won the title with 188 points. Senior Mandie Gallier
(Medford, N.J./Shawnee) placed seventh in the 400 meters
with a time of 58.51 and earned two points. Junior Lisa
Fair (Troy, Mich./Athens) placed fourth in the
55 hurdles with a time of 8.51 and earned five points. The 4x400
meter relay placed fifth with a time of 4:01.34 and earned four
points. The team consisted of freshman Courtney Kotewa
(Essexville, Mich./Garber), sophomore Jessica Sweeney
(Saginaw, Mich./Heritage), Fair and Gallier. The distance
medley relay placed fourth with a time of 12:16.98 and earned a
provisional qualifying mark. Kotewa, Gallier, Sweeney and freshman
Becca Rudey (Wixom, Mich./Walled Lake Western)
competed in the medley relay for the Cards. Senior Bethany
Rasmussen (Port Huron, Mich.) placed fourth in
the high jump with a height of 5' 2.25". Senior Ashley
Christie (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) placed fifth
in the pole vault with a height of 10' 10". Senior Mary
Jo Pouillon (Owosso, Mich.) finished fifth in
the weight throw with a distance of 52' 4.5".
