2005 LADIES HAVE STRONG SHOWING AT FERRIS STATE INVITE BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State Cardinals
competed at the Ferris State Invite on Saturday in Big Rapids. Junior
Ashley Bishop (Pickford, Mich.) placed
in the top six in three throwing events, including a second place
in the hammer throw (156-3), third place in the discus (132-10)
and sixth in the shot put (42-0.5). Freshman Kali Briggs
(Jackson, Mich./Vandercook Lake) placed in the top four
in two field events, including a second place in the high jump (5-0)
and a fourth in the javelin (117-6). Freshman Becca Rudey
(Wixom, Mich./Walled Lake Western) had two solid performances
in distance events with a second place finish in the 1500 (4:47.56)
and a third in the 3000 (10:41.34). Senior Mandie Gallier
(Medford, N.J.) had a good day in the hurdles placing first
