LADIES FINISH
EIGHTH AT D2 TEAM CHALLENGE
FINDLAY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State Lady Cardinals finished
eighth of 13 teams with 33 points as Hillsdale took the title with
110.50 points at the D2 Team Challenge on Saturday afternoon. Junior
Lisa Fair (Troy, Mich./Athens) had the
top individual performance in the 60 meter hurdles coming in second
place with a time of 9.23 earning eight points for SVSU. Freshman
Becca Rudey (Wixom, Mich./Walled Lake Western)
had another good outing with a third place in the mile run with
a time of 5:10.38 (6 pts.). Senior Bethany Rasmussen
(Port Huron, Mich.) cleared a height of 5' 2.25" in
the high jump and earned five points for a fourth place finish.
Also claiming fourth place was sophomore Jessica Sweeney
(Saginaw, Mich./Heritage) in the 800 meters (2:21.38).
A pair of relays also yielded points as the distance medley finished
fifth (12:35.66) and the 4x400 finished sixth (4:08.69). Senior
Meagan Strohkirch (Gladwin, Mich.) rounded
out the scoring claiming seventh in the 3000 meters with a time
of 11:04.41.
