Sullivan Becomes All-American in Boston

BOSTON, Mass. - Saginaw Valley State University's Nicole Sullivan (Vassar) became the school's 17th female All-American in track and field on Saturday (March 9) at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston, Massachusetts.    Sullivan garnered All-American honors by placing eighth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 38' 5", her best mark of the season. She currently holds the school record for indoor (38' 8.5") and outdoor (39' 3.5") records in the triple jump, and also holds the GLIAC mark. Sullivan was named "Female Ryder Athlete of the Year" for 2001 at SVSU. She also competed in the long jump on Friday (March 8), placing eleventh with a mark of 18'6".
    SVSU's Jon Hall (Pontiac/Central H.S.) competed in the men's long jump, but faulted all three jumps, and finished eleventh. The Cardinals begin the outdoor track season on Saturday, March 30, at the University of Indianapolis Invitational.
