Pouillon Qualifies For Junior Nationals at Northwood

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University track team competed at the Northwood University Open on Saturday (April 20). SVSU's John Hall (Pontiac/Central HS) set a new school mark in the long jump with a mark of 24' 2.25" to take first place in the event. The jump makes Hall a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division II Nationals.
   Mario Guerrero (Saginaw/Swan Valley HS) won the high jump with a 6' 10.25" jump to also become a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division II Nationals. In the women's events, Mary Jo Pouillon (Owosso) took first place in the hammer throw with a mark of 151' 11" and qualified for the U.S. Junior Nationals in Paolo Alto, Ca., in June.
   The Cardinals return to action on Saturday (April 27), when SVSU participates in the USTCA Quadrangular, held in Grand Rapids, Mich.
