                                            Three to Compete at Nationals

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Three Saginaw Valley State University athletes will compete at the Division II Track and Field Indoor Championships in Boston, Mass. this weekend (Mar. 14-15). The meet will take place on the campus of Roxbury Community College, in the Reggie Lewis Center.
      Rose Willis (Au Gres, Mich./Au Gres Sims HS) and Nicole Sullivan (Vassar, Mich.) will compete in women’s competition, while Mario Guerrero (Saginaw, Mich./Swan Valley HS) will be SVSU’s lone male entrant. Willis will compete in the 800 meter run with a qualifying time of 2:13.69. Sullivan qualified for the long jump, with a leap of 19’11’’, the fourth best mark in the nation. Guerrero will compete in the high jump. His mark of 7’ 0.5’’ is second best in NCAA Division II entering the weekend.
      Last weekend the Cardinals competed in the GLIAC Indoor Championships. The men finished in third place with 82 points, while the women finished in a tie for third with Hillsdale College as they both collected 80 points on the day.
