Cardinals Ink Three Prep Standouts

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University softball coach Sabrina Lane announced the signing of three high school athletes to National Letters of Intent on Thursday (November 18).  Jessica Anhel (Oxford, Mich.), Nicole Fick (Columbiaville, Mich./Lapeer West) and Stacy Kraatz (Howell, Mich./Hartland) each signed to play for the Cardinals beginning with the 2006 season.
Anhel will primarily play catcher but can also play several infield positions.  Kraatz will likely see the majority of her time on the pitcher's mound, while also platooning at first base.  Fick will see time at the middle infield positions for the Cardinals.
"All three of these young women are tremendously talented and are big time athletes," exclaimed Lane.  "We are looking forward to having them join our program after they complete their high school careers.  We expect Jessica, Nicole and Stacy to play a major role in the future success of our program."
The Cardinals will open the 2005 season with their annual spring trip to Fort Myers, Fla., beginning on February 25.
