Penny
Allen-Cook joined the SVSU athletic department in March 2005 as
the Compliance and Academic Services Coordinator. Allen-Cook received
a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and exercise
science with an emphasis in exercise physiology from Michigan
State University in 1987. She went on to earn a state of Michigan
provisional teaching certification from MSU in 1989. She earned
certification in physical education (K-12) and biology (7-12).
She is currently working toward a Master of Arts degree in physical
education with an emphasis in athletic administration at Central
Michigan University.
Administrative experience for Allen-Cook includes serving as the
Senior Women Administrator at Alma College from April of 1997
to August of 2002. From January of 1999 to April of 2000 she served
as Women’s Athletic Director at Alma College. While at Alma
College, Allen-Cook supervised nine varsity women’s athletic
teams and acted as the NCAA compliance director.
Allen-Cook also owns a long list of coaching experiences, with
the most recent as the head volleyball coach at Alma College from
May 1996 to August 2002. During the same time period, she served
as an assistant track coach at Alma College. |
