| Tennis Falls at Findlay, 6-3 |
| FINDLAY, Ohio - The Saginaw Valley State University women’s tennis team fell to Findlay today (Sept. 20) by a score of 6-3. The Cardinals picked up a win at #3 singles as Cortney Heileman (East China, Mich. / St. Clair HS) won in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Candace Pahl. Janessa Schmig (Bay City, Mich. / Bay City Central HS) would pick up a straight sets win over Kari Rudduck at #6 singles, 6-3, 6-0. Yunjiao Shangguan and Debra Hammond (Goodrich , Mich. / Goodrich HS) would pick up the Cardinals third victory at #1 doubles by a score of 8-6. With the loss the Cardinals fall to 0-5 overall on the season and 0-5 in the GLIAC, while Findlay improves to 2-2 overall on the season and 2-1 in the GLIAC. The Cardinal will return to the courts on September 28 when they travel to Wayne State for a noon match. |
