| Cardinals Finish Season Ranked 14th in NFCA Poll |
| UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University softball team finished the 2009 season ranked #14 in the NFCA Top 25 Poll after advancing to the NCAA Midwest Super Regional. The Cardinals were joined by GLIAC member Ferris State who was ranked No. 22 in the final poll. The Cardinal defeated the Bulldogs 1-0 to claim the Midwest Regional #2 Championship earlier this month. Saginaw Valley finished the season 39-11, claiming their second straight GLIAC Championship and the Midwest Regional #2 Championship before falling to Indianapolis in the Midwest Super Regional. Complete NFCA Top 25 Poll The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. |
