Cardinals End Season with Loss to No. 1 Huskies

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – On the twilight of the season, the Cardinals couldn’t get an upset over No. 1 Michigan Tech tonight (Feb. 28) as they fell 78-42.

On Senior Night, senior guard Tricia Everett (Saginaw, Mich.) led the Cardinals by pouring in 14 points, while sophomore forward Brittany Burkhardt dropped in 10 to round out SVSU’s top scorers and grabbed six boards. Senior guard Stephanie Sills (Clinton Township, Mich.) drained three points, had three assists and three rebounds in 18 minutes of play.

As a team, the Cardinals struggled to find their rhythm on offense as they shot 25.4 percent from the floor, and went just 1-for-19 from behind the three-point arc.

The loss ends the Cardinals season at 3-24 overall and 2-20 in the GLIAC, while the Huskies improve to 22-5 overall and 19-3 in the GLIAC.
