| Cardinals Fall to Wildcats |
| UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State women’s basketball team gave the visiting Northern Michigan Wildcats a run, but couldn’t prevail in the end as they fell, 73-62, tonight (Feb. 26). Leading the way for SVSU, sophomore forward Brittany Burkhardt (West Bloomfield, Mich.) drained a team-high 23 points, and grabbed six rebounds, while senior point guard Tricia Everett (Saginaw, Mich.) contributed 15 points, and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Freshman guard Marah Kyle (Bluffton, Ind.) rounded out the Cardinals’ top scorers with 13 points. For the game, Saginaw Valley State shot 22-of-52 (42.3 percent) from the floor, and changed in 17-of-22 (77.3 percent) from the charity stripe. The loss drops SVSU’s record to 3-23 overall, and 2-19 in the GLIAC, while Northern Michigan improves to 14-12 overall and 9-12 in the GLIAC. The Cardinals will play the season finale at home at 6 p.m. Saturday against No.1-ranked Michigan Tech. |
