| Cardinals Drop Game to Ferris State |
| BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State women’s basketball team lost tonight (Feb. 19) to Ferris State, 81-69. Leading the way with a double-double, sophomore forward Brittany Burkhardt (West Bloomfield, Mich.) drained 19 points and snatched 15 rebounds, eight of which came off the offensive glass. Sophomore guard Kelley Wesp (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored 17 points and senior point guard Tricia Everett (Saginaw, Mich.) sank 14 points to round out SVSU’s leading scorers. The loss drops the Cardinals’ record to 2-22 overall, and 1-18 in the GLIAC, while Ferris State improves to 10-13 overall and 8-11 in the GLIAC. Saginaw Valley will return to action at 6 p.m. Saturday when they travel to Allendale, Mich. to take on rival Grand Valley State. |
