Women’s Basketball Loses to Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Saginaw Valley State University women’s basketball team fell today (Nov. 29) to Bellarmine University 91-67.

On offense, the Cardinals were led by junior forward Brittany Burkhardt (West Bloomfield, Mich.) with 17 points in 28 minutes and pulled down five rebounds, including three on offense. Sophomore forward Kelsey Mausolf (Port Hope, Mich.) knocked down 14 points and grabbed five rebounds, three of which came off the offensive glass. Freshman guard Marah Kyle (Bluffton, Ind.) topped the SVSU lineup with six rebounds. Senior point guard Tricia Everett (Saginaw, Mich.) put up 12 points on 6-of-12 shooting.

In the game, the Cardinals were only able to shoot 44 percent from the floor. The loss drops SVSU’s record to 1-4 on the season, and will return to action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 4) as the Cardinals will travel to Findlay, Ohio, to begin conference play against the Oilers.
