Coach Jim Nesbitt Retires After 23 Seasons UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University head men's and women's cross country and track & field coach Jim Nesbitt announced his retirement effective July 2nd after 23 seasons with the Cardinals. Over the last 23 seasons, Nesbitt has propelled the Cardinals into contention for conference championships, as well as district titles, on a frequent basis. | SVSU Runners End Their Season at Division II Nationals WALNUT, Calif. - Kyle McDaniel (Yale, Mich.) and Tony Filipek (Caro, Mich./Kingston) finished up their 2007-2008 seasons today at the NCAA Division II National Championships, as McDaniel finished 11th in the Decathlon while Filipek finished sixth in his heat in the 800 meter run, but couldn’t qualify for the finals.
