29, 2005 CARDS RELAYS STRONG AT ALLTEL CLASSIC FINDLAY, Ohio - It was a day for relays on the men's side for SVSU at the Alltel Classic on Saturday. The distance medley relay placed first (10:11.89) and the 4x400 relay came in second (3:24.21) for the Cardinals. The distance medley featured Recker, Bill Germain (Vassar, Mich.), Jozwiak and Adam Roach (Port Huron, Mich.). The 4x400 relay featured Justin Thomason (Port Huron, Mich.), Kenny Williams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln), Pete O'Brien (Davison, Mich./Flint Kearsley) and Germain. On an individual basis, senior Jake Adams (Corunna, Mich.) placed fourth in the shot put (49' 3.75") as the highest individual finish. Sophomore Nick Krus (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview) finished sixth in the 600 meters (1:24.69). Senior Mario Guerrero (Saginaw, Mich./Swan Valley) finished second in the high jump (6' 8.75"). Junior Paul Jozwiak (Berkley, Mich.) finished ninth in the 800 meters (2:01.52). Senior Jerome Recker (Port Huron, Mich.) finished 10th in the 1000 meters (2:34.81).
