Men's Soccer: Coach
![]() Andy Rishmawi 3rd season | Andy Rishmawi just completed his third season at the helm of the men's soccer team at Saginaw Valley State University. Rishmawi's overall record at SVSU after three seasons is 23-32-3 (.396). In 2008, SVSU advanced to the GLIAC championship game. The Cardinals had their best season in program history in 2007, finishing with a record of 11-8-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the GLIAC, good for third in the conference and a birth into the GLIAC Conference Tournament. Four different players were named to All-GLIAC teams, including First Team selections Jimmy Henry and Kevin Fox. The team was 4-14 during Rishmawi's inaugural season and the program looks toward the future with promise. Rishmawi graduated from Flushing High School in 1994 and then Saginaw Valley in 1999. He has two masters degrees, a masters in education and a masters in administration. Rishmawi was the head coach of Saginaw Nouvel Boy's team in 1999, Trenton Boys and Girls team in 2000, Davison Boys team in 2001, and then Flushing Boy's and Girl's in 2002 to present. Rishmawi still is the women's varsity soccer coach at Flushing and teaches at Flushing High School. He has been a trainer for various clubs during the years. His overall High School coaching record is 147-62-15. He played soccer for Saginaw Valley State University and was the captain for three years and All-GLIAC for three years. During college he was able to train with the Mid-Michigan Bucks and Grand Rapids Explosion and Real Espana in Honduras. Andy and his wife, Debbie, reside in Flushing with son Aaron. |
