                                                   Cardinals Split

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men’s soccer team split games this weekend with Wheeling Jesuit and Salem International. They lost to Wheeling Jesuit 3-1 on Saturday (Sept .6) but then came back on Sunday (Sept.7) with a 1-0 victory against Salem Interenational.
     Against Wheeling Jesuit, Saginaw Valley was led by Robert Alexander (Midland, Mich.) who scored the only goal for SVSU. SVSU was out shot 14-6 on the day.
     SVSU turned things around against Salem International though, as senior goaltender Adrian Thomas (Marval, Trinidad & Tobago/Queens Royal HS) picked up his third shutout of the season, while recording eight saves. Alexander again came up big for the Cards, as he picked up the only goal of the game.
     Saginaw will return to action on Friday, (Sept. 12) as they host the University of Charleston.
